Huchchi is a badly made film

Huchchi directed by Venkatesh Panchangam, a television serial director is a badly made Kannada film with pathetic production values, uninteresting details and dry narration.

Pooja Gandhi who reigns as the busiest heroine in the Kannada film industry should think twice before signing such mediocre projects. Even though she plays the role of a mentally challenged girl, the role isn't worth talking about. To be fair to Pooja, she has made efforts to look different in the role, but unfortunately the film suffers badly on account of poor characterisation.

As for Venkatesh Panchangam, he should stick to directing television serials instead of making a mockery of cinema.

The film fails to provide sufficient thrills to the audience mainly because the director lacks the cinematic vision to take on such a complex theme. The film looks like a television serial than a film because of its poor production values and ordinary technical work.

The title of the film clearly indicates that the heroine suffers from a mental disorder. That itself robs the suspense element from the film. The story revolves around a young girl Preethi who suffers from some mental disorder. She and her mother are subjected to lot of torture by a rowdy. 

Though it is Pooja Gandhi who has the major role, it is veteran actor Anant Nag who gives a decent performance. Child artist Soundarya [ Images ] is quite expressive and gives tough competition to Pooja Gandhi in several sequences.

Giri Panchangam's music and Suvarna's camera work do not rise above the ordinary. All in all Huchchi is an average fare.
