Bangalore's Kalasipalya is bustling with the activities of the Sunday crowd. It would have been just another day if not for the gun shots. There is panic in the air but that's only till people realise that it is actor Yash who is 'firing' from a dummy gun.
The actor was shooting for a 'hafta vasool' scene for the Kannada film Rajadhani. The film talks about how today's youth look for short cuts to success.
"We often find youngsters cribbing about what they don't have. They want to have good things in life without working hard for them. Also at times due to peer pressure they start treading the wrong path," says Yash.
He in fact plays one such character in the film. "I play Raja, a very short tempered guy. The film is about how I along with a few of my close friends get initiated into crime," he adds.
The film intends to show how crime is fast growing as a 'profession'.
Talking about how different his role is in the film, Yash says, "I'm not playing a superhero who has just the good qualities. On the contrary I land up becoming the villain in my own life. Raja is an ordinary guy who makes mistakes and learns from them."
The actor has performed a dangerous stunt in the film. In a fight sequence, you will see him jump from the 24th floor of an under construction apartment. You will also see this flexible dancer shaking a leg with Russian dancers on Goan sands. A song Tight, tight full tight... featuring item girl Mumaith Khan has also been shot for the movie.
A poem from D V Gundappa's famous collection, Mankutimmana Kagga has been used as a song as well. Arjun has composed the music. H C Venu is the cinematographer.
Satya, Chetan Chandra, Ravi Teja and Sandeep are part of the main cast. They essay the roles of Yash's friends. Art director Arun Sagar, Prakash Raj, Umashree, Ramesh Bhatt, Tulasi and Sreenivasa Gowda form the supporting cast. Sheena Shahabadi, a Telugu film starlet is the leading lady.
Title trouble had also plagued the team what with one Hari Aditya claiming to have the rights for the same. But the conflict ended soon with the Rajadhani team getting a thumbs up from the film chamber.
Meanwhile, there seems to be no truth to the reports about director Raghu Jaya being replaced following a fall out with producer Soumya Sathyan, over financial reasons.
Raghu has finished directing the film with only action sequences which are being directed by action director Ravi Verma. Sources also maintain that dialogue writer K V Raju has not replaced Raghu but is just supervising the post production work. So everything is fine with theRajadhani team.
