Big screen adaptations of books are not unheard of. In fact, some of the biggest hits in Hollywood like the classics Gone With The Wind and To Kill a Mocking Bird and more recently, the Harry Potter series.

Bollywood has also adapted from books. Books like S Hussain Zaidi's Black Friday and Ruskin Bond's The Blue Umbrella have been made into films. Short stories have also been filmed, likeĀ Aparna Sen's big screen adaptation of Kunal Basu's The Japanese Wife.

And of course, we have Chetan Bhagat's best-seller novels. The buzz is that his latest novel 2 States is being made into a movie, starring Saif Ali Khan.

But there are so many books just waiting to be discovered on the big screen.
