Sushant Singh RajputIf recent reports are any indication, television actor Sushant Singh Rajput is set to be the next big thing in Bollywood. <

Two of the biggest production houses in Bollywood -- UTV and Yash Raj Films -- are currently trying to work out exclusive deals with the television actor.

Rajput, who rose to fame with the hit Balaji show Pavitra Rishta, was contacted by Aditya Chopra last month to discuss an exclusive three-film contract with Yash Raj.

A Yash Raj source says, "Adi (Aditya) offered him the parallel lead with Arjun Kapoor in Aurangzeb. He was impressed by Rajput's dancing skills in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and wanted to make a full-fledged dance film with him. A third film will be finalised later."

Unfortunately UTV, with whom Rajput signed a deal first, will not allow him to take up any outside projects.

A friend of the actor informs, "Aditya Chopra met Sushant and told him he had seen his work on television and had big screen plans for him."

Since the actor was already under contract with UTV, he asked Chopra for time so that he could speak to UTV and work someting

out.

Rajput's friend says, "Sushant would have to fulfill his two-film deal with UTV before he can sign anything else with a different banner. They've invested so much in the Chetan Bhagat adaptation Kai Po Che. They expect Sushant's career to take off in a big way. UTV naturally wants to cash in on his popularity once his debut film is released."

The friend adds, "Sushant has already lost one Yash Raj film Aurangzeb which was to start in the next couple of months. He has also lost Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt's Aashiqui 2, which has now gone to Aditya Roy Kapoor."

The latest development in the Rajput imbroglio is that UTV has agreed to put a time frame to the actor's exclusive contract.
The friend says, "UTV's second project with Sushant Rajput has to be launched before January 2013. If they fail to do so, Sushant is free to sign any film."

Would Aditya Chopra be willing to wait for Sushant Singh Rajput to complete the obligation with UTV?

Sushant remained unavailable for comment.
