After biopics like Bhaag Milkha BhaagMary Kom, and the upcoming film M S Dhoni, get ready for yet another biopic on a sportsperson. Filmmaker Karan Johar has bought the rights to make a movie on hockey legend Dhyan Chand.

Confirming the news, Karan tweeted: 'My friends Pooja...Aarti Shetty and I are honoured and proud to have the rights to tell the story of the legendary sportsman DHYAN CHAND.'

Dhyan Chand, who still remains a legendary figure in world hockey, was a three-time Olympic gold medal winner.

Kangna, R Madhavan unite for Tanu Weds Manu sequel

Actor R Madhavan, who was last seen in Jodi Breakers, has started shooting for the sequel of 2011 film Tanu Weds Manu.

He tweeted: 'Blessings, Ashirwaad and Duaaen pls. First day of Shoot. Tanu n Manu are back.'

Directed by Anand L Rai, the film will feature Kangna Ranaut in a double role.


Sonali Bendre, Lara Dutta make TV debut

Sonali Bendre makes her debut on television with daily soap Ajeeb Daastaan Hain Ye and Priyanka Chopra took to Twitter to wish her luck.

'Can't wait to see ur new show Sonali Bendre. It looks superb! Big hug & all the best! #ADHY,7th Oct, 9:30 PM Life OK TV,' she tweeted.

Meanwhile, Lara Dutta is seen hosting reality series Miss Diva Universe 2014. 'Is Sonu Sood single??:-). Watch the Miss Diva Universe contestants grill him on Zee Cafe at 8:30 pm tonite!!' Lara wrote, adding: 'Elimination is definitely the hardest thing I had to do on the Miss Diva Universe 2014 show!'


Amul's take on Haider

Amul, which is known for their topical advertisements, has paid tribute to Vishal Bhardwaj's latest film Haider with a new creative. The tag line that reads, 'Try with Haider, Bread or Roti. Modern Day Classic!'

Shraddha Kapoor shared the poster and tweeted: 'Inka bhi thappa lag hi gaya ;) #HaiderTrueCinema.' 


Rekha promotes Super Nani on TV

Rekha, who is all set to return to the silver screen with Super Nani, recently visited the sets of Comedy Nights With Kapil to promote her film.

Host Kapil Sharma shared a picture of her from the sets and wrote: 'One of my favourite picture... Zanju playing with Rekha ji.' 

The release of the film has been pushed ahead to avoid clashing with Shah Rukh Khan's Happy New Year. Super Nani is now expected to release on October 31.

Parineeti Chopra's tribute to Jawans

Parineeti Chopra has been busy shooting for NDTV's special Jai Jawan at the Indo-Pak border in Rajasthan.

She shared a picture of her with Indian soldiers and tweeted: 'Been in Jaisalmer for the past 2 days shooting Jai Jawan with NDTV. What an honour to spend time with the jawans. Its been a life enriching experience for me and my team, we never realise the difficulties faced by the indian army to keep us safe.'

'Living in the desert and braving the heat, they live a gruelling life away from their families just to keep all of us secure. Thank you brave soldiers, thank you NDTV. I will never forget this all my life. Truly humbled and overwhelmed,' she added.

Jai Jawan is a show where our country's best known film stars visit some of these unsung heroes of the Indian Army.


Aamir Khan thanks Narendra Modi

Aamir Khan is latest Bollywood celebrity to come forward in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's My Clean Indian campaign.

Expressing his gratitude, Aamir wrote: 'Thank you sir. Your thought of gifting Bapu with a clean India by 2019 on his 150th birth anniversary is a beautiful thought. Swachh Bharat is a visionary idea. Every Indian needs to be a part of this movement. Mumkin hai.'
