Rishi KapoorA look at the top tweets from your favourite Bollywood celebrities:

As the student strike at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) continues, several celebrities turned to Twitter to tweet their views on Gajendra Chauhan's appointment as its chairman:

Rishi Kapoor: Advice. After all the protests and controversy, Gajendra Chauhan, the FTII Chairman should voluntarily retire. Will do good to the students. If they don't want you, they don't want you. By pushing for the chairmanship is getting you no where. Let self pride play a role and retire!

Sudhir Mishra: The Ftii Chairperson shud have an academic bent of mind. He shud also b aware of film making around d world and all d cinemas of India. In our fast changing world of technology d chairman of d Ftii shud b able to guide d students n d faculty in that direction.

Dia Mirza: Many an institution finding itself led by appointments made with lack of due process.

Vivek Agnihotri: No TV channel is actually going to #FTII and talking to students. All they need is celebrities in their studios.

Hansal Mehta: Anupamji said on a debate last night that #FTII 'has gone to the dogs' in the past 10 years. Sir, I would like to draw your attention to the number of accomplished Alumni that FTII has produced in these years. Actors, cinematographers, sound designers, directors, writers, production designers have done some distinguished work that has won accolades not only in the country but also around the world. You cannot rubbish their accomplishments sir. Yes, there is room for immense improvement. Sadly, the debate is no longer about making #FTII a greater institution or about the advancement of cinema/tv as art but about justifying the chauvinism of a government that wishes to muscle its way into art by appointing people who are poorly qualified for their respective jobs. Anupam sir, you are a very respected member of the film industry and by making the above statement you are being severely disparaging of new talent rather than encouraging them.

Resul Pookutty: In one breath GOI say #FTIIPune is an institute of national importance and in the other breath they say we shall give it away2 private party. Film industry is just a name, we been asking for an Industry status which GOI has not recognized, so who are they giving #FTIIPune to?!
