Jerry SeinfeldAward-winning standup comedian and actor Jerry Seinfeld's maiden India gig has been cancelled owing to traffic-related issues, organisers have said in a press statement.

A part of Stage42 festival, Seinfeld's live show was scheduled to take place at the Sardar Vallabhbhai stadium in Mumbai this weekend.

We reproduce the press release issued by show organisers Only Much Louder:

"We regret to announce that the Jerry Seinfeld shows scheduled to take place this weekend (Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15) have been cancelled.

"Fans who have purchased tickets for the shows will be issued a full refund by Wednesday, March 25 -- details about the same have been emailed to all ticket buyers, and fans can call in to a special helpline, +912265044455, from Monday onward to address any queries regarding the same.

"This cancellation is unavoidable due to circumstances beyond the artist's and our control.

"Issues related to traffic and parking at the venue, which were brought to our attention only a couple of days ago, forced the cancellation of all artist travel arrangements pending a resolution of these logistical issues.

"But in spite of our best efforts to resolve these matters with the authorities quickly, which resulted in suitable alternate parking and traffic plans being arranged, this was not in time to reorganize the required artist travel logistics.

"We deeply regret the inconvenience caused to fans due to this cancellation. Despite this setback, we remain committed to bringing Indian fans world-class live entertainment experiences".
