Coming up, on Yash Raj Television

After making blockbusters for the big screen, Yash Raj Films has now launched five television shows to entertain you through the weekends. The shows will take off from January 1, and will be aired on Sony Entertainment Television.

Here's a quick look at what to expect. Check out the trailers as well!

Lift Kare De
Host: Karan Johar

Karan Johar will chat with 20 of the biggest Bollywood stars, and help them get close to their biggest fans.

The reality show will kick off with Shah Rukh Khan, followed by other stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and many more.

"The show is not just about a fan meeting his favourite film star, it also has some emotions attached to it," Karan said.

Mahi's Way

Cast: Pushtiie

Mahi's Way is a story of a 25-year-old fun-loving and carefree girl, with her share of dreams and ambitions. How she achieves them is what the show is about.

Pushtiie, incidentally, is actor Vrajesh Hirjee's sister. She has worked in serials like Jassi... Jaisi Koi Nahi, Hum Panch and Kareena Kareena.

"I could relate to the show because I am just like Mahi," Pushtiie said. "Many of the incidences in the show have happened to me. It's not all easy because you wouldn't want to face some of these incidents again."

Rishta.com

Cast: Shruti Seth, Kavi Shashtri

Rishta.com is a contemporary take on the institution of marriage. Two young and charming people, with completely opposite personalities -- Isha and Rohan -- form a company to find the perfect match. And they go through quirky requirements and emotional roller coaster rides to get the match on Rishta.com

Shruti Seth seems to be a Yash Raj favourite. She has starred in their film productions like Ta Ra Rum Pum and Fanaa earlier. This show has been directed by her younger brother Rishabh.

"My brother is one of the most talented writer-directors and (the show) will definitely appeal to the audience," Shruti says. "I bullied him to take me to play Isha's character."

Kavi made his big screen debut opposite Naseeruddin Shah and Kiron Kher in It Could Be You, as well as Imitiaz Ali's Love Aaj Kal.

Seven

Cast: Shama Sikander, Rakesh Bapat, Himanshoo Malhotra, Shivam Sood, Kashmira Irani, Meherzan Mazda, Shireen Farooq, Nushrat Bharucha and Raashul Tandon.

The show explores the journey of seven ordinary people with extraordinary powers and their quest to fulfill an ancient prophecy and save the world from evil forces.

Shama Sikandar, who plays one of the main characters, shot to fame in the show Yeh Meri Life Hai, and has worked in serials like Dhoom Dodakka, Pardesi Re and Ansh. She has done cameos in films like Prem Agan and Mann too.

Powder

Cast: Manish Chaudhari, Pankarj Tripati, Rahul Bagga and Geetika Tyagi

The show is set against the narcotic trade in Mumbai, where two people on different sides of the law take up a fight against each other.
