Kambakkht Ishq and Saif's Love Aaj Kal is releasing almost back to back. Are you nervous for yourself or Saif?
I am not nervous. But I am praying that both our films do well and people like our performances. Love Aaj Kal is Saif's first production, so double prayers for him.
Do you regret not being a part of Love Aaj Kal?
No... Deepika [Padukone] suits the role to a T.
But you said at an awards function that you are a bit disappointed for not being a part of the film.
Yes, initially, I was a bit down because the script is good and any actor would love to be a part of it. But ultimately, it's the director's [Imtiaz Ali] decision. Neither Saif nor I can do anything about it. But now that I have seen a few cuts of the film, I am convinced that Imtiaz took the right decision.
You are also doing 3 Idiots with Aamir Khan. How's the experience?
Are you kidding? What do you mean by 'how's the experience'? It's a Rajkumar Hirani-Aamir Khan combo...I would be an idiot not to do it.
Apparently you cried after listening to the script of 3 Idiots?
Yes, I did. It was the first time that a script made me cry. Now please don't ask the storyline, I won't tell you... wait and watch.
And what about playing a terrorist in Jehaad?
Jehaad is a Karan Johar film. But this time Karan is stepping outside his romantic and social genre. Saif is my hero in the film, but it's not the 'dance-round-the-tree' romance that we do in the film. And let me clear this confusion: Saif is the terrorist in the film, not me.
