American drama 24 has been voted the Most Addictive television series in a survey of more than 3,000 film and TV fans.
According to the poll, headed by LOVEFiLM.com, the show, that tells the story of Jack Bauer at the Los Angeles Counter Terrorist Unit, topped the list with 19 percent votes in its favour.
Time travel and a magical island ensure that we get hooked to Lost which bagged the second spot with 17 percent votes.
A cast that turns good and bad makes sure that we stay hooked to Heroes which came in fourth with 9 percent votes.
The Wire, a drama series set in Baltimore, Maryland, bagged the fifth spot with seven percent votes.
At number 6 is Dr Who with six percent of the votes.
Darren Bignell, Communications Manager of the website, said: 'We're a nation of comfort lovers and the thought of curling up on the sofa with our favourite programmes is a very tempting one.'
Following Dr Who is CSI, another drama series like 24 with five percent of the votes.
'Although crime doesn''t pay, as our list reveals, it most certainly pulls in the viewers, and shows like 24 have clearly found the right mix of suspense, drama and action to keep us coming back for more,' Bignell said.
The story of two brothers breaking out of prison in Prison Break made it to the list at number eight with four percent votes.
Fond of the mafia? Well, it looks like it as the drama series, The Sopranos, grabbed the ninth spot with three percent votes.
Rounding off the list are the four sexy and stylish ladies of Sex and the City with two percent votes.
