Make way for the new kid on the Bollywood block. Ayesha Takia's kid sister Natasha is all set to make her foray in Hindi cinema.
The 21-year-old girl has not landed any offers yet, but she has certainly started looking out. She talks to A Ganesh Nadar about her career plans.
Was this a sudden decision or have you been thinking about acting for a long time?
Since Ayesha was already into films, I had been thinking about this for a long time. But now I have been thinking more seriously and have decided to take the plunge.
What kind of scripts are you looking at?
Actually, I have not looked at any. I am working on myself and improving my skills. I will wait until something nice comes along.
Will you go for glamour roles?
Definitely.
Ayesha maintained a very strict no-kissing and no exposing rule. Will you implement the same?
I am fortunate to learn from her but I am my own individual. It depends on the script. If I like the script, then I will see.
Quite a few Bollywood heroines are acting in Southern language films. Would you sign up too, if you got any interesting offers if you get an offer in South?
Actually I did get an offer for a South Indian film earlier when I was not interested in acting. If I get such an offer and I like the story, I will do a south film. Acting in different languages is not a problem.
Your mother always accompanies Ayesha on the sets of her shoots. Will she do the same with you?
Ayesha was always the baby of the family. She is used to a lot of pampering. All of us pamper her. She is so sweet. I am hoping that mom will find time to come with me on the sets until I am comfortable.
You are supposed to be very internet savvy. How many hours do you spend on the net?
I used to spend a lot of time on the net earlier. But it's a lot less now. I spend enough time to know what is going on. I have a lot of friends online. In fact, I twitter all day.
Dancing is so important in Bollywood films. Have you learnt to dance?
I had visited Ayesha's sets recently, and everyone was saying the same thing. I am looking forward to learning dance. I have to find the right teacher and learn different forms.
You were always interested in music. Do you sing or play any instrument?
I am interested in singing. I know how to play the guitar.
What kind of music do you like?
All kinds of electronic music -- classic, rock, hip hop, anything that is fun and danceable. Remixes are fun. They even make old slow songs danceable.
