It's been a long time since we saw some action in the theatres. Now with the strike over, Kambakkth Ishq seems worth the wait. The romantic comedy stars Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Amrita Arora, Aftab Shivdasani and has cameos by Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brandon Routh.
So what is the film about? Lets find out.
Directed by first-timer Sabir Khan [he's also credited as the story writer], the film is about an Indian stuntman Viraj Shergill [Akshay] who takes Hollywood by storm but cannot find true love.
According to our swashbuckling hero, 'women are only good for two things... making love and making love.'
Enter Simrita Rai [Kareena Kapoor], a gutsy babe with an acidic tongue that can put any errant male firmly in his place. According to her, 'all men are dogs'.
Finally, one day they find themselves under the most extraordinary twist of fate which binds them beyond their wildest dreams.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, this marriage between the east and the west boasts of action, comedy and babes in bikinis.
As for the Hollywood cameos, the stars are reported to be playing themselves. Some of the film's most important scenes were shot at the Kodak Theatre and Universal Studios in Los Angeles.
Incidentally, Akshay plays Brandon Routh's stuntman in the film.
So will Kambakkth Ishq light up the box office? Only time will tell when the film hits the theatres on July 10.
