After sizzling in Tamil and Telugu films, sexy Namitha has now set her sights on Malayalam. The sexy siren is currently shooting for her maiden venture in Malayalam, Black Stallion, directed by Pramod-Pappan.
"It's a thriller," smiles Namitha, as she gets ready to face the camera. "Of course, with me playing the lead, there will be glamour for sure, but there is a genuine storyline here and that attracted me to the project."
The location for the day is a beautiful waterfront villa in Kochi. Her character is that of a bar dancer, Laura Singh.
Kalabhavan Mani and Bala play the male leads in Black Stallion. Mani plays a wicked police officer nicknamed Black Stallion while Bala plays a photographer, who falls in love with Laura.
Director duo Pramod and Pappan, who have earlier directed films like Vajram and Thaskaraveeran with Mammootty as the hero, says that they are making their new venture with technical brilliance. Three cameras are being used to shoot the film.
Musafir, another film from the directors with Rahman and Mamta Mohandas in the lead, is all set to hit the screens soon.
Namitha says that she isn't happy with her last couple of releases, "as my roles were quite different from what it was during the narration stage. I have decided to be more careful in selecting my films from now on. When I signed Black Stallion, I knew that it had a performance oriented role for me. "
Namitha is quite disciplined when it comes to physical fitness. "I am not against the size zero trend, but I would like to remain fit. What people look forward to is a well toned body, good skin and a lot of oomph," she adds.
She is also comfortable with her glamorous image. "These days heroines start doing homely characters and changes their image by doing glamorous roles after a while. So what's the big deal?" she asks.
