62nd Cannes Film Festival -- where he was
promoting his film,
Kites, with co-star Barbara Mori -- to attend the 26th International AIDS candelight memorial at Shivaji Park, Mumbai. The function was held to commemorate all those who lost their lives to AIDS. His wife Suzanne accompanied him.
Farhan Akhtar, who is busy shooting for his next film, made himself available for the noble cause as well.
It was Parmeshwar Godrej who, along with Richard Gere, had launched the Heroes Project in 2004 to fight AIDS.
Choreographer Sandeep Soparkar performed with his model girlfriend Jesse Randhawa at the event.
Nandita Das, who made a terrific directorial debut with Firaaq, shared the stage with Parmeshwar Godrej's grandsons Aryaan and Azaar, and an AIDS victim.
Columnist and novelist Shobha De teamed up with businessman Adi Godrej to light candles for people who lost their lives to AIDS.
