'My 'strip' performance in Bigg Boss was in jest'

Sherlyn Chopra's luck ran out at Bigg Boss when she was finally evicted after being nominated for the fourth consecutive week. Even her sexy dance moves couldn't save her, as audiences chose Vindoo Singh instead of her.

Sherlyn talks to Rajul Hegde about her time in the house, and why she didn't get along with anyone.

Why didn't you get along with your housemates in the first two weeks?

Yes, I came across as a loner on the show. I am not a good talker but I'm a good listener. I don't see anything wrong with that. Everyone took the liberty of concluding that I had an attitude.

I love doing chores around the house. I have an obsessive-compulsive disorder. During the first two weeks, I was bitching about others. Slowly, I tried to change myself but that didn't help much.

'Kamal Khan chose TRPs over humanity'

Do you think the Kamal Khan was one of the reasons you were nominated during the first two weeks?

Yes. I became friends with Kamal, and that was the main reason for me to get nominated. I liked him because he did a lot of comedy in his own style. The housemates may have felt that I was bitching about them. Shayad unlogone socha hoga bura sangat ka asar bhura hi hota hai (maybe they thought the effects of bad company will always be bad).

I feel bad when I think of what I did. I may have created an image that forced people to nominate me. I was stunned when my name was announced for eviction. Earlier, the housemates would say that I don't interact with them much but when I tried to change myself, they still felt I was being fake.

Do you think Kamal was really that bad?

Initially, he had fun in the house too. But slowly, he chose TRPs over humanity. He openly said that he was promoting himself and me. When I realised he would do anything for TRPs, I decided to stay away from him. He threw a water bottle at Rohit Verma. The next time, it could have been me.

'I will do Kamal's film when I am about to retire'

Kamal claimed that he saved you from eviction. In a way, he kept his promise because he was thrown out of the house.

Good joke.

Usne apne pear pe kuladi mara (he ruined his own chances). Had he not thrown the bottle at Rohit, he wouldn't have been expelled from the house. Both of us would have been nominated and at least I would have come to know the viewers' verdict. I think I was destined not to be in competition with him during the eviction.

Kamal has offered you a film. Will you take it up?

He has offered a role to almost everyone in the house. Can you believe he offered a role to Amitabh Bachchan too? Sure, I will do a role in his film -- when I am about to retire.

'I wanted to stay till the end'

What did you gain from Bigg Boss?

I project myself as an outrageous, bindas kind of girl. But I'm really a shy girl. Even my performance when I 'stripped' on the show was in jest. I said that I intended to do a sensual act but ended up doing comedy. People have seen the real Sherlyn in the house, who is shy and not too loud. I think people will be able to connect with me now.

Has your purpose of coming on this show been fulfilled?

No. I wanted to stay till the end. I was confident of that because I know I have the qualities to win Bigg Boss. I cried a lot after eviction because I did not expect it. I am not a loser.

'Vindoo is the meanest person in the house'

Who do you think played the most games in the house?

I didn't realise this when I was inside the house. After seeing the footage, I have realised that Rohit is not what he is. He would say 'darling, I love you' and hug me but now I feel it never came from within. He doesn't mean what he says.

I think a person with a lot of patience and mental strength can survive in the house. I don't know if a person can survive by playing games or being honest.

Who was the meanest person in Bigg Boss?

I considered Vindooji as my brother but he turned against me. I assigned him the work to clean the house for a week because I thought he had the strength to do that kind of work. But I was shocked at the way he reacted -- he shouted at me before I left the house.

I saw the footage after I left the house. I am really hurt. I guess he couldn't understand me properly. I feel he is the meanest person in the house.

Are you ready for de-glamorous roles now?

I don't think I am ready to experiment yet. I want to be a successful actress and it can happen only with commercial films. I might experiment after I become an established actress. Right now, I am looking at meaty roles in commercial films. I have approached directors like Aditya Chopra, Farah Khan and Karan Johar. Let's hope something works out for me.
