At a time when remakes are flooding the Kannada film industry, two films aim to be different.

The two original films coming our way this Friday are Mooru Guttu Ondhu Sullu Ondhu Nija and Parichaya.

Mooru Guttu Ondhu Sullu Ondhu Nija is directed by Dinesh Baboo and stars Ramesh Arvind and Komal together after a long gap. Parichaya is directed by Sanjay.

In Mooru Guttu Ondhu Sullu Ondhu Nija, Ramesh Arvind plays a typical farmer from Mandya district who gatecrashes into a house in the city and create problems there.

"It is like reinventing myself," says Ramesh Arvind about his role. "I will be playing the role of a tough villager with rugged looks. Most of the characters I have played so far were from the urban milieu. This is for the first time that I am acting as a villager. I took nearly five days to dub for the film as I had to learn to speak Kannada with the Mandya region accent."

Ramesh Arvind adds, "I thoroughly enjoyed working with an actor like Komal who has great timing in comedy. He had played an important role under my direction in Sathyavan Savithri. I think our chemistry has worked out very well in this new film also. I was helped by Rajendra Karanth to write the dialogues. Malavalli Sai Krishna who is familiar with the Mandya Kannada accent toned up my dialogue delivery and modulation while dubbing."

The film's director Dinesh Baboo is also of the opinion that both Ramesh Arvind and Komal have terrific chemistry on screen. "The combination of these two artists has worked out so well that people may feel like watching the film again and again."

According to the producer Rajeev Kengeri, Ramesh does not have a love interest in the film but Nancy from Mumbai plays Komal's heroine. "Nancy speaks in Hindi and Komal is unable to understand her, and Ramesh adds more confusion to the whole drama."

Sanjay's Parichaya on the other hand has Tarun and Rekha in the lead.

Sanjay earlier directed the hugely successful Hudugaata with Ganesh and Rekha in the lead.

Parichaya is said to be a trendy and youthful love story.

"The songs composed by Jassie Gift are rocking the charts. Nadedhaaduva Kaamanabille has been the topping the charts for many months now. Besides the quality of songs and the freshness in narration will appeal to the audience. The strong story line will appeal to the young and family audience also," said Sanjay.

Tarun is extremely happy to get a film like Parichya just after the release of a film like Love Guru which appealed to the class audience.

"Parichaya will have a larger appeal. Though the film is presented stylishly to attract the young brigade, I feel that the screenplay has enough space for appealing to the family audience also."

Rekha has proved to be a lucky mascot for director Sanjay.

"In this film Sanjay wanted me to be more glamorous and bubbly. I have tried a different look. I hope the film will be as big a hit as its songs," she said.
