As you know, a typical Bollywood flick has it all -- songs, dances, fights and most of the times, happy endings as well.

Lately we have seen a rise in kidnappings. This Friday's thriller Acid Factory too deals with kidnappings. Five men wake up in a factory with no memory of how they got there. Three are kidnappers while the other two are their captives.

The film which is directed by Suparn Verma stars Danny Denzongpa, Dino Morea, Aftab Shivdasani, Manoj Bajpai, Irrfan Khan, Fardeen Khan and Dia Mirza.

While we wait to find out who kidnaps who, here's a look -- in no particular order -- at recent films which touched on the subject.

Kidnap

The title says it all.

Directed by Sanjay Gadhvi, Kidnap starred Sanjay Dutt, Imran Khan, Minissha Lamba and Vidya Malvade.

Imran plays Kabir an angry young man who kidnaps a bikini-clad Sonia (Minissha) so that he could get back at her father Vikrant (Sanjay Dutt) for things he had done in the past.

While the story sounds promising, the movie was anything but.

Relieved that it is not is son, Lagoo, nevertheless agrees to pay the ransom for his servant's son.

Amjad Khan plays the kidnapper who has some old scores to settle with Lagoo.

Yuva directed by Mani Ratnam starred Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan, Vivek Oberoi, Rani Mukerji, Kareena Kapoor and Esha Deol.

Even though this film does not deal with kidnapping per se, there is a scene towards the end of the film when Om Puri asks Abhishek to kidnap Vivek Oberoi.

Though the kidnapping itself is nothing great, the scene of the escape from the captors is really interesting and shot well.

Hu Tu Tu

Haan jab tak hain jaan main naachoongi, the song that Basanti sings and dances too after she is taken hostage is fraught with tension as Jai and Veeru sneak up on the bandits. Good stuff.
