39-year-old Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi dropped a bombshell earlier this month when she revealed that's she pregnant!

And, in true Padma style, she's not shy about discussing it.

"I actually can't button my jeans anymore," she told Usmagazine.com. "Up until about a week ago, I could. There's just too much pressure, so I've had to put them away for now."

She also reportedly revealed at a recent event in New York City that, "One thing that happens when you're pregnant is that as your stomach starts to stretch and it itches! So I have to keep my belly really lubricated. Every morning, there's a buttering ceremony after I get out of the shower. It's really like basting a turkey with body butter."

'There's nothing I won't eat and nothing I won't wear'

Speaking of food, the pregnancy reportedly hasn't had any affect on the model-turned-cookbook author's legendary appetite. She's all set for the next season of Top Chef.

"I am as omnivorous as it's possible to be. I always say there's nothing I won't eat and nothing I won't wear, Am I gonna be having a Scotch on the rocks? No. But I never did that anyway," People magazine quoted her as saying.

But is she worried about gaining weight? Nah, not Padma. She's used to it.

"During the course of filming Top Chef, I gained 15 pounds (about 7 kgs), so I'm used to needing two dress sizes. Now I'll just need three: my fat size, my skinny size and my super size," she was quoted as saying.

Padma's pregnancy 'a medical miracle'

Lakshmi also reportedly plans to use her 'bun in the oven' to raise awareness about a condition from which she suffers, endometriosis, which sometimes makes pregnancies very difficult.

So difficult, in fact, that her doctor has called Padma's pregnancy "a medical miracle."

Padma, who has had two surgeries because of the condition, is a co-founder of the Endometriosis Foundation of America.

Meanwhile, a rumour was swirling last week that Manu Nathan is the father of the child, but Lakshmi's rep quickly stamped out such talk, saying it was absurd. Manu is actually Padma's cousin.
