The Best Celebrity Moms
Britney Spears has been named the best star mom in a new poll.
The Toxic superstar lost custody of her two sons after her public meltdown in 2008, but gained shared custody with her ex Kevin Federline after she proved to the courts that she had cleaned up her act.
The singer topped the poll carried out by Christmas savings company Park after they surveyed 7,000 of their customers, reports The Mirror.
Christina Aguilera
Following in second place was Christina Aguilera, who says becoming a mother has not affected her creativity and attitude to work because it would be 'unfair' if it did.
The singer, who delivered Max, her first child with husband Jordan Bratman, last January, insists that parenthood has harnessed her personality and also her sex appeal.
'Since becoming a mum, I feel I have more knowledge and that makes me feel beautiful. I feel more centred, which makes me feel confident and sexy,' the Daily Express quoted her as saying.
Angelina Jolie
At third place is mother-of-six Angelina Jolie, who deserves a medal for handling her brood consisting of adopted kids, Maddox, Pax and Zahara, as well as her and Brad Pitt's biological daughter, Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne.
Jade Goody
Late British reality television star Jade Goody also made it to the list at number four after she made sure that her kids -- Bobbie and Freddie -- were not left penniless, leaving her entire fortune to them.
The Big Brother contestant, who died aged 27 after losing her life to cervical cancer earlier this year, was claimed to have amassed 6 million pounds for her kids.
Katie Holmes
At number five is Katie Holmes, who says that her daughter Suri is her fashion inspiration.
Holmes, who's married to Tom Cruise, has just launched her own line with celebrity stylist Jeanne Yang.
Katie told The Sun: 'It has been my dream forever to be in fashion and I'm truly inspired by my daughter Suri. She just loves dressing up so I decided to launch this exciting venture with Jeanne.'
Madonna
Madonna takes the sixth spot even as she copes with her break up from husband of eight years, Guy Ritchie.
Talking about her kids, Madonna, 51, said that it's been 'different' with sons Rocco, eight, and David, five, spending time in the UK with their father, 41.
'Life is an adjustment. My sons aren't with me right now, they're with their father, and I'm not very comfortable with the idea of my children not living together,' People quoted her as saying.
The boys' sisters are Lourdes, 13 (her father is Carlos Leon, 43) and Mercy, three, adopted by Madonna after the divorce.
Jessica Alba
At number seven is actress Jessica Alba who revealed that she is very keen on getting her 15-month-old daughter Honor to be able to speak both Spanish and English.
Alba, 28, who is of Mexican descent, has already started educating her daughter by singing songs.
'I am a mother who shoves information down her throat, poor thing. I sing her songs about colours in Spanish and English when I'm cooking. Literally I integrate learning into everything I do,' Contactmusic quoted her as saying.
Jennifer Garner
Most of the readers agree that the 37-year-old star is a good mom. She gave birth in January to her second daughter, Seraphina, who joined first daughter Violet, three.
Even her friends think so too. Lynda Obst, producer of Garner's latest comedy The Invention of Lying, says that the actress finds different ways to encourage her kids to think creatively.
'Most of the time that I did spend with her when it was off-set, Violet was cooking with her, or reading Jane Austen, or doing one of these remarkable things that Violet tends to do,' People quoted Obst as saying. 'She encourages her kids to be independent. At the same time, kind of not television watchers. Readers. Thinkers. She is kind of old-fashioned. She is a very classic mom.'
However, Garner, who attended the Hollywood premiere of the movie without husband Ben Affleck, said that she had to constantly struggle to juggle her career and motherhood.
'Every day, you feel like you are off-balance one way or another. You just take it one day at a time. Oh gosh, let me know when you figure that out. I don't think anyone has it,' she said.
Nicole Richie
The socialite takes the number ninth spot. Richie and her partner Joel Madden recently became proud parents of a baby boy whom they have decided to call Sparrow.
Sparrow is the couple's second child -- they welcomed daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden in January 2008.
