Mad Men and 30 Rock were among the big winners at the Primetime Emmy Awards.
HBO series Mad Men was named Best Drama while 30 Rock was named Best Comedy at the ceremony, held in the US, reports People.
Mad Men triumphed in four award categories, including best cinematography for an hour long series.
Between the Creative Emmy Awards on September 13 and September 21 ceremony, Mad Men won six Emmys in total with 30 Rock taking seven, including Best Comic Actor and Best Comic Actress for its stars, Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey.
Jessica Lange [left] won the award for best actress in a miniseries or movie while Glenn Close won an Emmy for outstanding lead actress in the drama series Damages.
HBO's miniseries John Adams won 13 Emmys in total, including awards for stars Paul Giamatti, Laura Linney and Tom Wilkinson.
Justin Timberlake [left] won an award for best guest actor in a comedy series for his appearance on Saturday Night Live while Bryan Cranston was the surprise winner of the Best Actor in a Drama award for his performance in the new series Breaking Bad.
Animated comedy The Simpsons has once again claimed an Emmy the 10th time. It marked the 10th time that The Simpsons was named best half-hour animated show, reports BBC.
Meanwhile, Kristin Chenoweth won the Best Supporting Comedy Actress while Jon Cryer won the male category for Two and a Half Men.
Toni Collette took home an Emmy after winning the Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category. The Aussie actress was credited for her performance as Tara Gregson in Showtime's original series United States of Tara.
British teleplay Little Dorrit won several prizes, including best mini-series, art direction (Dearbhla Walsh), costumes and cinematography.
Comedian Sarah Silverman and four co-writers shared the prize for best original music and lyrics for a song about Matt Damon, that became an Internet sensation.
Former Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon was named best guest actress for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit while TV veteran Tim Conway claimed an Emmy award for playing an old-time star on 30 Rock.
Kristin Chenoweth of Pushing Daisies also won an award for best supporting actress in a comedy series
Iranian actress Shohreh Aghdashloo [left]of HBO's House Of Saddam won an award for best actress in a miniseries while Cherry Jones won hers for the best supporting actress in a drama series 24.
Kathryn Joosten won her second award for her recurring role as Karen McCluskey on Desperate Housewives.Jeff Probst [right] was declared the best host for a reality or reality-competition program for Survivor while Michael Emerson of Lost holds his award for best supporting actor in a drama series.
