Bachchans impressed by Peepli Live

Here's what your favourite celebrities have been up to.

Aamir Khan went all out to promote his home production, Peepli Live, by having a series of special screenings for Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Juhi Chawla and Kangna Ranaut through the week. On Thursday, he invited Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan to watch the film.

Amitabh was so impressed by the movie that he tweeted 'no stars, no foo faah, just a simple tale put across so effectively. So impressed with the first time director!'

Amitabh also tweeted about Aamir's wife Kiron Rao's Bengali speaking skills. 'Aamir's wife Kiron speaks fluent Bengali, so Jaya and she had a ball -- Aamir and me had the food.'

The night ended with dinner at Aamir's place. 'Last night Peepli Live with Aamir and dinner at his place. Delighted with PL. so real so nostalgic so superb. Loved it!!'

Neil, Deepika promote Lafangey Parindey

Meanwhile, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Deepika Padukone were busy promoting their film, Lafangey Parindey at Mumbai's Yash Raj Studio. The film will release on August 20.
