Need help with life's problems? Rakhi Sawant is here to help!
The item girl has graduated to playing counselor in Imagine TV's upcoming show Rakhi Ka Insaaf. She will be seen solving social issues, but without any legal involvement. The show will provide a platform for common people to voice their issues and look for a solution.
Rakhi tells Rajul Hegde how she plans to do it:
Do you think it will be easy to solve problems?
Yes. I have struggled and faced many hardships in life. I had wished for someone who would help and guide me. My experiences in life have made me capable enough to provide guidance to others. People will come on the show crying, but will go back smiling. I will give justice in an hour. I am looking forward to this new opportunity and hope to give insaaf dil se.
This show sounds similar to Kiran Bedi's Aap Ki Kacheri.
I respect Kiran Bediji so please don't compare my show with hers. I have not studied law and have no knowledge about legal procedures. I will give insaaf from my heart.
Will people take you seriously?
People might laugh at me but they know I speak from the heart. I will be unbiased in my judgment. We have already started getting mails from victims. Our team will first do the research and then will select interesting cases. I will choose the ones I feel I can solve.
Will your attitude change when you give the verdict?
No. This show will create history. Big lawyers will be surprised to see how a verdict can be given in an hour.
What would you do if Elesh Parujanwala (who got engaged to Rakhi in reality show, Rakhi Ka Swayamvar) came on your show for justice?
I have sorted it out with him long ago. I was not unjust to him.
Will you help resolve Dimpy Mahajan's domestic problems (Dimpy got married to actor Rahul Mahajan in a reality show and later claimed to have been beaten up by him)?
Yes. Why not?
Do you think people will trust you after your false promises during the swayamvar?
If the show wasn't successful, the channel wouldn't have come up with Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jaayega. He got married to Dimpy on the show. I told you I would marry but iska matlab yeh nahi hain ki koi bhi gada ayega mai usay shaadi karo. (it does not mean that I will marry any donkey who comes on my show). I didn't marry because I sensed something was wrong, and I'm glad. I broke the engagement, not the marriage.
We have not seen you perform any item songs for quite sometime now.
I am selective about the item songs I do. Also, I was busy with reality shows now.
Would you be interested in Swayamvar 2?
Not now. But I will, if I feel like it. There is nothing wrong in getting married on Swayamvar. On my Swayamvar, people came on the show for publicity. But Rahul Mahajan got married to Dimpy. Now, the problem is with Rahul, not Dimpy.
You are a big fan of Salman Khan's. What do you have to say about his new look in Dabbangg?
Yes. I am a big fan. He looks very good in uniform. He is a sweetheart and a very good human being. I want him to come on my show with his problems. I don't know why all these girls ditched him.
What do you think of film stars coming on television?
I started the trend and now everyone is following it. Now since they are doing something or the other on television, I don't have a choice but to do Rakhi ka Insaaf [winks].
Do you get offers to do telly soaps?
Yes. But I will do soaps only after my retirement.
