Beyonce Knowles is an unstoppable force.

Since her solo debut album Dangerously in Love in 2004, the singer, who was once part of Destiny's Child, has just gone from strength to strength.

And Sunday night's win at the 52nd Grammy Awards has cemented her place as the brightest star in the music industry, with her record haul of six Grammy awards this year.

Beyonce has broken her own record and those of Alicia Keys, Norah Jones and Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse and Alison Krauss with this year's big win.

In 2004, Beyonce won five Grammies for Dangerously in Love. By exceeding that milestone on Sunday, she is the first to reach that mark twice.

Beyonce's six Grammies, the most by a female performer in one year, include Best Song for Single Ladies, Best R&B Song and Best Contemporary R&B Album.

And the 28-year-old rightly deserves all the accolades. It's not just the songs which are catchy; even the music videos are immensely popular.

Take the Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) music video, for example. The video featuring Beyonce and a couple of dancers in sexy black leotards went on to win Best Choreography for Beyonce at last year's MTV Video Music Awards.

In addition to talent, Beyonce's unique business sense also won her the prestigious Billboard Woman of the Year Award last year.

'She has not only influenced pop culture with her hit songs and her signature dance moves, but has inspired women everywhere with her unique style, business savvy and dedication to charitable causes,' Contactmusic quoted publication editorial director Bill Werde as saying.

The singer can also expect demand for her music to rise with the Grammy haul.

So what next from the sexy songstress?

Well, she has revealed that she will come up with a new album this year. But that is after her six-month break from music to recharge her batteries and to just live life.

'It's definitely time to take a break, to recharge my batteries. I'd like to take about six months and not go into the studio. I need to just live life, to be inspired by things again,' the Daily Star quoted her as telling USA Today.

'I'm going to do random things. I want to go to restaurants, maybe take a class and see some movies and Broadway shows. It will be the hardest thing in the world for me to make myself not do an album and shoot a video and turn it in and say, 'I'm ready! I already have all these melodies and ideas in my head. I have to tell myself, 'Sit down! Sit down',' she added.

Until then, Single Ladies can keep us on our toes.
