Getting Dharmendra to dance was a piece of cake, but an interview? Tough!
That's what we found out during a special taping of Indian Idol 5 where the veteran actor was the special guest on Tuesday.
The theme for the evening was the songs of Dharmendra and the evening proceeded as planned.
However, by the time the show wrapped up, the actor was exhausted and cranky, and agreed to answer only a few questions.
Asked on what he thought of the Indian Idol contestants, he said they "are very lucky that they have got such a wonderful platform to showcase their talent. All of them sang really well and I wish them a good future."
Asked to comment on his classic film Sholay which will be completing 35 years on August 15, the actor said, "Sholay was a wonderful movie and I hope it will have a special space in everyone's hearts and minds for another 35 years."
"The dialogues of Sholay are still well known and it feels good that people still watch and enjoy it," he added.
So does he have any interest in music?
"I am not a good singer but I enjoy listening to good music. I have a good collection of Madan's music and music of other legends," he replied.
Dharmendra's current projects include one film with daughter Esha Deol in wife Hema Malini's home production Tell Me Oh Khuda and another one, Yamla Pagla Dewana with his sons Sunny and Bobby Deol.
