Sassy, sexy, sophisticated and jaw-dropping stylish, the women of Sex and the City are simply inimitable.

Clearly not in their 20s (or should that be 30s?) anymore, SATC revolves around four fashion-forward BFF coming together to celebrate/crib about their respective lives, achievements and the universal troubles on the menu -- dating, relationships, ageing yadda yadda.

Despite clear distinctions in their individuality, the foursome -- Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda -- are famously thick and a much-idolised modern-day embodiment of girl-bonding.

HBO's hit TV series translated to a big screen adaptation in 2008 whereas its sequel is all set to hit the marquee this week.

Her attitude: A columnist by profession, Carrie spews clarity in her fiercely-independent thoughts regarding man-woman relationships. That, however, doesn't negate the fact that she's hopelessly romantic.

Her style: Quirky! Carrie cannot do regular. The Manolo Blahnik-obsessed fashionista has a fondness for dramatic exaggerations, larger-than-life flamboyance and super-duper chic.

Her attitude: She's the 'try-sexual' of the group. Her brazen willingness to explore every angle of the word 'sex' makes her both -- intimidating and liberating. Living life on her own terms, Samantha says it like it is. A closet softie, nevertheless.

Her style: A glamour goddess like no other. Samantha knows she's got the goods and is more than happy to flaunt them with her flirty, sizzling wardrobe.

Her words: I don't know how you people do it. All that emotional chow-chow. It's exhausting.

Her attitude: She's sweet. She's optimistic. She's prudish. Don't you dare think she's 'vanilla'. Just when you think you've had her all figured, Charlotte springs a surprise.

Her style: Lady-like! The lovely lass likes is all about co-ordination clothes and accessories have to be very, very tasteful and always in sync.

Her words: Could you please not use the F-word in Vera Wang?

Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes

Her attitude: Anxious yet amiable, she's quite a paradox. Miranda, despite her skeptical, angst-against-the-opposite sex, workaholic moments, is exactly the kind of frank friend you can count on to call a 'spade a spade'.

Her style: Originally it was all about well-structured suits but with time Miranda's personality as well as her dressing style has noticeably mellowed. And that reflects in her recent choices.

Her words: Soul mates only exist in the Hallmark aisle of Duane Reade Drugs.
