Two movies await Kannada movie goers this weekend -- Krishnan Love Story and Yogish's bike film, Punda.

Krishnan Love Story brings together award-winning director Shashank and actress Radhika Pandit for the second time after Moggina Monasu.

While Moggina Manasu was about teenage love story, Krishnan Love Story is based on the love story of one of the director's friends. Only the climax has been changed.

In fact, the tag line of the film reads 75 percent real and 25 percent cinema. "We say so because we have fights and songs which you won't see in real life. Also we have changed the ending to make it more appealing," says Radhika.

The actress is very excited about the role and says the character will stay with her for life.

The story revolved around Geetha, a girl from a lower middle class family who lives in a slum. She is the love interest of Ajay Rao of Taj Mahal and Excuse Me fame.

A bike called Hombegowdru is also pivotal to the story.  Every time it stops, there is a twist in the hero's life.

Music is by Shreedhar V. There is a Sufi song as well in the film.

Yograj Bhatt, Shashank and Jayanth Kaikini have written the lyrics. One song has been shot atop Coorg's highest peak Mandalpatti.

Bike plays a central character in Punda as well.

The film, starring Yogish and Meghana Raj, is a remake of the super hit Tamil film Polladhavan, a film about a youngster who loses his bike.

It also highlighted the father-son relationship and had Dhanush in the lead.

It is coincidental that Yogish who is termed Kannada industry's Dhanush is doing this film. While Kannada actress Ramya was the leading lady in the original, Meghana, who has acted in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films is debuting in Kannada films with Punda.

She plays a bubbly character and sports a glamorous look. She is the daughter of veteran actors Sundar Raj and Pramila Joshai.

The film is directed by H Vasu.

Pakkadmane hudugaanaa... a song sung by Kailash Kher is already popular with the masses.
