What do you get when you combine cricket and music? Well, you get what's its called IPL Rockstar, a television show featuring 12 singers who will vie for the title right in the IPL cricket stadiums.

The show commencing on March 13 will spread over seven weeks. The singers will perform in front of a live audience and judges Sukhwinder Singh and Kailash Kher. Rapper Hard Kaur will be the host.

The performances will be held before the cricket action begins. These shows will then be telecast on Colors.

Rajul Hegde caught up with seven of the 12 contestants to find out more.

Sandeep Acharya

After winning Indian Idol 2, Sandeep performed in many stage shows around the world. The most memorable shows for him are the ones in US with fellow Indian Idol finalist Aditi Paul.

He also got an award for his first album from his favourite actor Amitabh Bachchan, a moment he says he will cherish for ever. So far he has worked in four albums and sung for Sunidhi Chauhan and Daboo Mallik.

He says he enjoys playback singing though live shows are where the money is at. Which is one reason why we're seeing him here.

Catch IPL Rockstar every Saturday-Sunday at 7 pm.
