The new faces of 2010 in Bollywood

Last updated on: March 31, 2010 17:54 IST
Aruna Shields

So far, we've seen Shakti Kapoor's daughter Shraddha make a forgettable appearance in Teen Patti, but the year's not all bad for fresh faces considering we didn't know anyone in Dibakar Banerjee's great Love, Sex Aur Dhokha.

Anyway, here's the rest of the new lineup coming your way over the next few weeks and months:

Aruna Shields in Prince: It's Showtime

British Indian actress Shields has been in five films so far, but the most impressive credit on her resume must be her appearance as a dream girl in Sacha Baron Cohen's Ali G Indahouse.

Shields is evidently quite open to skin-shows, and we've heard there's much heat shared between her and Vivek on-screen in the upcoming actioner.

Luv Sinha in Sadiyaan

Luv Sinha

Shatughan Sinha's son Luv makes his leading man debut in Sadiyaan, directed by Raj Kanwar, the man behind films like Deewana, Jeet, Judaai and Daag: The Fire.

Luv's surrounded by vintage starpower in this film with Rishi Kapoor, Shabana Azmi, Rekha and Hema Malini all watching over his debut, a romance.

Barbara Mori in Kites

Barbara Mori

This one hardly seems like a debutant when you consider the amount of press coverage she's already generated.

The 32-year-old Mexican actress has largely been famous because of regular work on a soap opera, but this time India's waiting for her to star opposite Hrithik Roshan -- after fevered speculation about a rumoured off-screen affair -- in Anurag Basu's film, releasing this May.

Mona Laizza in Kajraare

Pooja Bhatt takes on father Mahesh's work as she adapts his 1991 hit Sadak into this Himesh Reshammiya starrer.

The original film was about a man falling in love with a prostitute. The girl in the film is Laizza, a popular Pakistani television actress, and one who is clearly popular on the Internet.

Lekha Washington in Peter Gaya Kaam Se

Lekha Washington

Aamir star Rajeev Khandelwal returns to the big screen with John Owen's curiously titled film about a motorcycle-cabbie in Goa, and the girl opposite him is none other than Washington, the sprightly and energetic face of the IPL in its first season in 2008.

The Chennai girl already has a Tamil film and a couple of cameos to her name, but this will be her first Bollywood venture.

Sonakshi Sinha in Dabangg

Sonakshi Sinha

Daughter to Shatrughan and Poonam Sinha, this 23-year-old makes her debut opposite Salman Khan in one of the year's most talked about action films.

Sonakshi hasn't signed any other films yet, but has been actively involved in modeling, walking the ramp during the Lakme Fashion Week in both 2008 and 2009.
