When it comes to PDA, Bollywood has its reservations. But for all its perceived puritanism, filmmakers haven't shied away from depicting unbridled passions by introducing an elaborate lip-lock scene.

Not only does it provide the viewer an eyeful but also generate some welcome publicity.

Already Zoya Akhtar's under production, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is making buzz for an alleged smooch between Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif. On that note, here's a look at Bollywood's longest kissing sequences of prominence.

Karma

Sometime in 1933, Devika Rani and Himanshu Rai, also real-life husband and wife, dared to make out on celluloid for the royal romance, Karma engaging in a four-minute long kiss.

Needless to say, a majorly controversial move for those times.

Kurbaan

Another real-life couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor showed no qualms about entering a sensual kissathon for pal Karan Johar's Kurbaan.

Too bad their sexy spontaneity failed togenerate ripples at the box office.

Dhoom 2

Anyone who ever dismissed Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as an icy maiden needs to get a good look at the prolonged lip-on-lip between her and Hrithik Roshan in Dhoom 2.

The moral police had a hard time digesting the same but it resulted in the twain becoming an unbeatable jodi.

Dayavan

It's one of the most awkward expressions of passion on reel. And sure as hell seems never-ending.

No wonder kissing Vinod Khanna in Feroz Khan's Davayan goes down as one of the most embarrassing chapters in Madhuri Dixit's book.

Raja Hindustani

Bollywood loves the implausible. That explains the rain-drenched smooch between a hill-station cabbie and tycoon's daughter in Dharmesh Darshan'smusical blockbuster, Raja Hindustani.

To Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor's credit, they did their best to distract us from this far-fetched reality.

Jaanbaaz

The raw, carnal chemistry between a swaggering Anil 'Jhakaas' Kapoor and boot-clad Dimple Kapadia simply reaches its peak as they hit each other's mouth in Feroz Khan's uber stylish, Jaanbaaz.

Ishqiya

Though extremely jittery about kissing each other for debutant director Abhishek Chaubey's acclaimed Ishqiya, Arshad Warsi and Vidya Balan did well enough to spark off rumours of a romance.

Their moment of lust turned out to be one of the most talked-about scenes in the movie. And with good reason.

Sabse Bada Khiladi

There's nothing charming about Akshay Kumar forcefully smacking a stunned Mamta Kulkarni's lips even as the camera lingers on for what seems like eternity in Umesh Mehra's surprisingly successful Sabse Bada Khiladi.

Murder

Serial kisser Emraan Hashmi gifts Mallika Sherawat an extensive lip service package as the two pounce on each other to get close and personal in Anurag Basu's Murder, a desi rip-off of Hollywood's Unfaithful.

Sheesha

Long before indie films found Neha Dhupia, she succumbed to her self-coined motto of 'Only Sex and SRK sell' to go wild on Sonu Sood in films like Julie and Sheesha.

Especially the latter, which has the duo absorbed in a record-breaking long kissing session.
