Suriya's brother adopts a tiger!

Karthi, the young Tamil actor and Suriya's brother has done something no other actor has done before -- he has adopted Namraha, a one-year-old white tiger cub!

He visited the Arignar Anna Zoological Park at Vandalur in Chennai with his niece Diya (Suriya and Jyothika's daughter) and handed a cheque of    77,000 for the food and maintenance of the cub.

Mani Ratnam's bilingual film Raavan (Hindi) and Raavanan (Tamil) may not have done well in India, but it has been well received at the International film festivals.

After winning the Jeager-Le Coutre award at the 67th Venice International Film Festival, Mani Ratnam attended the ongoing 15th Pusan International Film Festival in South Korea where his film was screened.

The film festival which concludes on October 15 showcased both the films at the special Gala Presentation on Friday last.

Aaranya Kaandam gets New York premiere

The South Asian International Film Festival (SAIFF) in New York is said to be the most important destination for the first time South Asian/Indian film makers.

The 6th Annual South Asian International Film Festival is taking place between October 27 and November 2.

Legendary singer S P Balasubramaniam's son S P B Charan's film Aaranya kandam as a producer will be screened there.

The film, directed by debutant Thyagarajan Kumararaja stars Jackie Shroff, Yamini Ponnappa and Ravi Krishna in the lead. Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music for the movie.
