Should these Hollywood couples get back together?

Looks like splitsville is where most Hollywood couples are heading these days. Following in the heels of the Courtney Cox-David Arquette split, another couple -- Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman -- called it quits recently.

While we know Hollywood is not known for marriages that last, we can't help but wish these couples would work out their differences and give it another go.

Here's a look at some of the recent couples whom we'd like to see get together again.

Courtney Cox and David Arquette

The Friends star and her actor husband have been married for 11 long years -- a lifetime in Hollywood standards. So it was a shock to hear that the seemingly rock solid relationship had developed fatal cracks.

In the course of the breakup, some not so flattering tidbits have come to the fore. David, who admitted that he had casual sex with a barmaid, has hinted that his estranged wife may have found someone too.

During an interview on Howard Stern's Sirius Satellite radio show, Arquette said he didn't know if his wife and her Cougar Town co-star Brian Van Holt were getting physical, but acknowledged an 'emotional affair,' reports the New York Daily News.

He added, 'Part of the terms of our separation was that I was allowed to see other people and so was she.'

RadarOnline.com previously reported that the nature of the pair's relationship was questioned in April after Cox sent her chauffeured limo home and opted to spend the night on the Cougar Town set with Van Holt.

'The talk on the set was that she and David had an open marriage. David came to the Cougar Town set maybe four or five times over the course of the season, that's not a lot compared with other actors,' said an on-set source

However, the co-star's relationship may be nothing but platonic, said Van Holt's sister, Heather.

'As far as I know they are not romantically involved. We are a very close-knit family and he is usually very open with me, I'm sure he would have told me,' she said.

Looks like the couple could cancel each other's indiscretion and stick around for their six-year-old daughter, Coco, if nothing else.

Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman

Just last month, the pop singer -- who has been married to music exec Jordan Bratman for nearly five years -- said their relationship hasn't changed much since they first began dating in 2002.

'Marriage unites you and makes you official, but it didn't change our relationship. All the things like wanting to work hard and play hard -- they were always important to us,' Usmagazine.com had quoted her as telling Cosmopolitan UK.

'We've been married for five years now, and I think the secret is in always keeping it interesting. You have to make time for yourselves. I leave little lipstick marks on the bathroom mirror for when he wakes up, and little notes written in lipstick on the mirror and in the shower. Little notes, little cards, little 'I love yous' here and there, just to keep things fun and alive,' she had said.

And now comes the news that the 29-year-old singer is splitting from her 33-year-old mate.

According to US Weekly, the two have been separated for a few months, but they are yet to decide whether they will get a divorce or not. They are reportedly trying hard to remain on friendly terms for the sake of their two-year-old son, Max.

'They were very much in love. But over the last six months, it became clear they were more like friends than husband and wife,' a source revealed.

Since giving birth to her Max in 2008, the Christina admitted that motherhood has helped strengthen her relationship with her husband.

'Having Max has brought us closer together,' she said. 'When I see them together, it makes my heart sing and melt at the same time.'

Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins

We just about cried when Susan Sarandon ended her 23-year-old relationship with actor Tim Robbins.

According to People magazine, the couple -- who has two kids Miles Robbins and Jack Henry Robbins together -- parted ways this summer.

Sarandon and Robbins met on the set of their 1988 film Bull Durham. In addition to their successful film careers, both have been heavily involved in political and social causes.

The 64-year-old actress revealed to Britain's Telegraph how many people that she met thought her relationship with Robbins, 51, would last forever.

'People were coming up to me in the street and saying, 'I cried and cried when I heard',' People magazine quoted her as saying.

'Well, I was sadder! I didn't think it would ever happen, either,' she stated.

But the fairytale did end. The actress said that the love affair had just run its course.

'You bring people into your life at certain times. Maybe you have a relationship to have children, and you realise that it's fulfilled after that point,' she explained.

'I've always liked the idea of choosing to be with somebody. I thought that if you didn't get married, you wouldn't take each other for granted as easily. I don't know if after 20 something years that was still true,' she added.

We just hope she does, hopefully with Tim again.

Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy

The couple had ended their five-year romance after mutually agreeing on parting ways.

Carrey and his wife made the news of their break-up public by announcing it on Twitter. Both the actors sent tweets of their break up. And publicists of the couple later confirmed the news.

The pair admitted they had spent wonderful time with each other.

Carrey's tweet said, 'Jenny and I have just ended our five year relationship. I'm grateful for the many blessings we've shared and I wish her the best best! S'okay!'

McCarthy released a statement through her publicist saying she ''will always keep Jim as a leading man in my heart.''

She also said that she would remain involved in his adult daughter's life.

Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes

It wasn't an affair that broke up these two.

Rather the seven-year-old marriage came to an end 'out of boredom'.

The Oscar-winning actress, 34, and the director, 44, called it quits two years after they teamed up for the film Revolutionary Road, ironically based on a drifting couple.

'She felt bored. When Sam isn't working, he'd just as soon stay home. Kate loves going out... She was the one pushing for the divorce,' the New York Daily News quoted a friend of the couple as saying.

The source further claimed Winslet's steamy scenes with co-star Leonardo DiCaprio in the film were the tipping point.

The friend said that movie 'put a lot of stress on their marriage' and 'Kate came to regret making the movie with Sam.'

The pal continued: 'They've been pretty much living separate lives since the end of the summer. They realised some time ago that they were not a good fit. They were more like brother and sister.'

Since the split, Kate has moved on and is now dating a handsome male model.

The Titanic star met 34-year-old Louis Dowler -- who has appeared in campaigns for fashion house Burberry with Kate Moss -- secretly a few months ago through mutual friends.

Since then, the two have become inseparable.

Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jamie Kennedy

Jennifer is sure unlucky in love. After splitting with her fiance Scottish actor Ross McCall last year, the Ghost Whisperer stars has broken up again, this time with actor Jamie Kennedy.

After a year-long romance, the pair has called it quits.

It was in March 2009 that Kennedy had confirmed the romance. He told Ryan Seacrest during a radio interview, 'I'm in love!'

While describing his costar on Ghost Whisperer, Kennedy said: 'It's like, 'Wow, you are hot. You can sing, you can dance, you're like, so smart and, wow, you can cook pasta fagioli, too.''

Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend

After nine years of togetherness, Hollywood stunner Charlize split from movie star Stuart Townsend.

The Oscar winner, 34, dumped the Irishman, 37, after a holiday in Mexico.

A friend of the actress said: 'Stuart is gutted but Charlize said that she realised during the Mexican holiday that the relationship was over. They had become more like brother and sister than lovers. It was she who ended it.'

The duo met in 2001 on the set of a thriller called Trapped.

Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva

Now, this is one couple that should keep well away from each other.

Much has been written about the abusive relationship between the actor and his former partner.

Gibson split from Grigorieva, the mother of his seven-month-old child, earlier this year and the former couple is allegedly embroiled in a battle over visitation rights.

The singer revealed that she "left him" for the sake of her children despite rumours that the star dumped her.

And she has claimed that she is not getting any financial help from the star for the upkeep of their daughter.

'He is not paying me a penny. Nothing. There are so many lies being said about me. I was trying to keep things dignified and be respectful to the father of my daughter, but what he is doing is cruelty. I am having to live on credit cards and borrowed money. It is not a good situation,' the Daily Express quoted her as saying the Mail.

Add to that the allegations if abuse, and you have a recipe for disaster.

Gibson has been accused of using a handgun to threaten Grigorieva during one of their heated clashes.

According to TMZ, this explosive allegation is part of the Los Angeles Sheriff's probe into whether the hot-headed actor abused his Russian baby mama and endangered their infant daughter.

Grigorieva told investigators the Lethal Weapon star made the threat at his Malibu home, the New York Daily News reported.

Sandra Bullock and Jesse James

The actress abruptly split with James, 41, in March after lurid revelations of his infidelity surfaced.

Although their marriage has ended, Bullock, 46, has said she is still committed to her ex's three children. Bullock adopted a son, Louis Bardo, earlier this year.

'I don't really know how our paths will intersect in the future, but the father I have known Jesse to be with all the kids is one that I hope Louis can experience one day, no matter how Jesse and I go on with our lives,' News.com.au quoted her as telling Britain's Hello! magazine in May.

An attorney for James confirmed in June that his client was moving to Austin, Tex., where Bullock also owns a home.

The divorce between The Blind Side star and her motorcycle entrepreneur husband became final at the end of June.
