'I want to look like a girl again'

After sporting a short pixy hairstyle for long, cricket commentator and television host Mandira Bedi says that she now wants to look like a girl again and is growing her tresses back.

"I have experimented a lot with my look. Now I am planning to grow my hair again. Since my hair grows sideways, it will take a few months to take proper shape. But I promise that I am headed there," Bedi said.

Colourful debut

Once called the 'first lady of Indian cricket', her noodle strap blouses and colourful saris hogged more spotlight than even the most professional cricket commentators, as she debuted as a commentator during the 2003 World Cup matches.

Losing face

However, for the past couple of years, she has seen her once soaring popularity dip after being replaced by new faces on the hosting circuit.

'I want to have a feminine look'

On what prompted her to change the in-vogue pixie look, Bedi said she wanted to look feminine.

"It is because I want to look like a girl again. I want to have a feminine look. My husband also teases me by saying that I have become his younger brother," said Bedi who walked the ramp during the Kolkata leg of the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour.

'I wear clothes that I can carry off at any given point of time'

Asked about her style statement, she said she likes to wear anything that her body can carry off.

"The shape of my body at any given point of time determines the clothes that I am in. It has to suit my body type. I wear clothes that I can carry off at any given point of time," she said.

Commenting on the recent match-fixing controversy that has rocked world cricket, she said it has hurt her. "I am disturbed after hearing it. Once again, the ugly head of match-fixing has raised its head," she said.
