Is Deepika Padukone Rajnikanth's latest heroine?

The latest buzz in the industry is that Deepika Padukone is being paired opposite superstar Rajnikanth in his next film Raana, where he has triple roles.

According to sources, Deepika is adjusting her dates so that she is free to do the film. It is also believed that Sonu Sood will play the villain in Raana.

Raana will be directed by K S Ravikumar who made some of Rajnikanth's most successful films like Muthu, which was a huge hit in Japan.

Raana, a period film, will be produced by Rajnikanth's daughter Soundarya.

 

Bala wraps up Avan Ivan shoot

Bala has finished the shooting of his new film Avan Ivan.

The National Award winning director (for Naan Kadavul) usually takes years to finish a project. However, Avan Ivan, his next venture after Naan Kadavul has taken only 200 days to complete.

Unlike the intense films he has made so far, Avan Ivan is said to be a romantic comedy.

After Naan Kadavul, Arya once again stars in the film. The other surprising male lead is Vishal, who has so far done only pure commercial films. Avan Ivan is Vishal's first outing in an offbeat film. He acts as a man with a squint.

Janani Iyer and Madhushalini play the female leads.

Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music director while Arthur A Wilson is the cinematographer.

The film is expected to reach the theatres in April.

Prabhu Deva's next

Prabhu Deva's next release as a director with be the Tamil film Engeyum Kaadhal (Love everywhere), and it will be a romantic comedy.

The film starring Jayam Ravi and Hansika Motwani was shot entirely in France. It is a love story between a man from India who falls in love with a girl living in Paris.

In fact, the film was tentatively titled Paris in the beginning and later Ich. It is now officially called Engeyum Kaadhal.

Prabhu Deva's brother Raju Sundaram also acts in the film.

Music is by Harris Jayaraj. Kalpathi S Aghoram is the producer.

Having finished Engeyum Kaadhal, Prabhu Deva is now shooting another Tamil film starring Vishal and Sameera Reddy which is said to be an action film.

In between, Parbhu Deva has donned the actor's robe for Santosh Sivan's off beat venture in Malayalam, Urumi.
