Will Mammootty get a hit after a string of flops? Will Malayalis laugh along with a gang of friends celebrating the New Year? Or will the relationship between couples emerge the winner?

Here's a look at three new Malayalam films that release on November 30.

Face 2 Face

Dir: V M Vinu
Cast: Mammootty, Ragini Dwivedi

Mammootty plays Balachandran, a cop who has bid goodbye to his uniform after facing some struggles both in his personal as well as in his professional life. The film is about a mysterious murder.

Kannada actor Ragini Dwivedi, Roma, Siddique, and Kalabhavan Mani are in the cast which also includes some fresh faces.

The film is directed by V M Vinu and produced by M K Nassar. Manoj Payyannur has penned the script. While Ajayan Vincent is the cinematographer of the film, the music is composed by Alphons.

It's a crucial film for Mammootty as ten of his films have failed to create magic at the box office.

Chettayees

Dir: Shajoon Kariyal
Cast: Biju Menon, Lal, Suresh Krishna, P Sukumar, Sunil Babu, Mia

Five friends celebrate the arrival of the New Year in an apartment owned by one of them. Things are going well until at a certain moment unexpected happenings affect the party.

Scripted by Sachi, who wrote the hit Run Baby Run recently, Chettayees is a fun ride.

Produced under the banner of Thakkali Films formed by actors Biju Menon and Suresh Krishna, cinematographer P Sukumar, scenarist Sachi and director Shajoon Kariyal, the film is expected to be a laugh riot.

"It is a genuine story and we have thoroughly enjoyed the making of this film," says Biju Menon, who is having a fantastic year with several hits in his kitty.

Poppins

Dir: V K Prakash

Cast: Kunchacko Boban, Jayasurya, Indrajith, Siddique, Nithya Menen, Meghna Raj, Ann Augustine

Publicity material for Poppins announces that it is a sweet film, a precaution director V K Prakash has taken after his recent and controversial Trivandrum Lodge turned out to be too spicy for some.

The film is a rehash of the director's Kannada film titled Aidu Ondla Aidu and an adaptation of Jayaprakash Kuloor's play.

Poppins is about the relationships between couples, stitched together in an interesting way.

The film is produced by Darshan Ravi. Cinematography is by Jomon T John, Arun James and Pradeesh M Varma. Ratheesh Vegha is the music director.
