The 2012 Global Indian Music Awards were held on October 1 at Yashraj Studio in Andheri, a western Mumbai suburb.

Several Bollywood stars added glamour to the event with talented musicians and artists who attended the do.

Shah Rukh Khan, whose film Ra.One picked up quite a few awards for its hit songs, recieved the Film Song Of The Year award for Chammak Challo from Sonakshi Sinha.

Singer Nandini Srikar picked up the Best Female Playback Singer award for her song Bhare Naina from Ra.One.

Music composer duo Shankar Ehsaan and Loy won The Best Music Arrangement award for their song Senorita in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.

Parineeti Chopra set the stage on fire with her stunning performance.

A R Rahman recieves his award from SRK and Lowell Paddock, President and Managing Director, General Motors.

The ace music composer won the Best Background score award for Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar and received a Special Recognition award for having completed 20 years in the music industry.

He was also awarded the Best Male Playback Singer jointly with Javed Ali and Mohit Chauhan for Kun faaya kun and Naadan parindey from Rockstar.

Host for the night, Ishaqzaade actress Parineeti Chopra is joined by a dapper Saif Ali Khan on stage.

Noted classical singer Girija Devi poses with her Lifetime Achievement Award as she's accompanied by Pandit Jasraj, who received the Global Musician Honour.

Singer Mika Singh, who received the Wizcraft Honour for Best LIVE Performer, dances with Sonakshi and Ajay Devgn on stage.

Dressed in an intricately-designed salwar kameez, actress Vidya Balan attended the awards show.

Actress/model Nargis Fakhri looked stunning in her sparkly dress with a tulip hemline as she arrived for the event.

Actor Ajay Devgn was later spotted with a guest at the awards show.

Music composer Pritam, who's garnered a lot of praise and attention with his work in Barfi!, was at the do too.

Lyricist Shantanu Moitra makes his way to the show.

Pritam's song Daru desi from Cocktail was named Star Plus Hottest Song of the year with Ayushmann Khurrana's Pani da rang.

Rapper Hard Kaur was visibly excited to be at the show.

She tweeted, "It was great being at Gima awards tonight..lovely to see everyone especially my Fav Vidya balan x mwah love her."

Actor/singer Ayushmann Khurrana, who won the Best Music Debut for his song Pani da rang from Vicky Donor, was spotted with the song's lyricist Rochak Kohli.

Bappi Lahiri posed with his trophy -- the Most Popular Song On Radio for Oh la la from The Dirty Picture.

Singer Sonu Nigam received the award for Global Indian Collaboration of The Year for This Is It.

Music composer Himesh Reshammiya and actor Vivek Oberoi turned up solo.

Television actress Karishma Tanna looked pretty in a sari.
