Watch out for Indraganti Mohankrishna's romantic drama Anthaku mundu... Aa tharuvatha.

National award-winning director Indraganti Mohankrishna is almost through with the shoot of his next film Anthaku Mundu..Aa Tharuvatha, starring Sumanth Ashwin and newcomer Esha.

Anthaku Mundu..Aa Tharuvatha, a romantic drama, is produced by K L Damodar Prasad under Sri Ranjith Movies. He was the producer of the hugely successful Ala Modalaindi which released in January 2011.

Mohankrishna last film Golconda High School also hit the theatres in January 2011.

"This is production no 14 of Sri Ranjith Movies. I liked Mohan's point and connected to it. The film is an entertainer and is in the realistic format being close to life.

"People from the age of 16 to 70 will connect to some character or the other in this romantic drama," said Damodar Prasad.

Director Mohankrishna adds, "Damu garu works more as a collaborator than as a moneybag."

Sumanth Ashwin, son of well-known producer M S Raju, who made his debut last year with Tuneega Tuneega, is cast as one of the main leads.

Damodar Prasad says, "I saw him in Tuneega Tuneega and liked his performance. So we cast him." While Mohankrishna admits "I didn't see the film and I wanted to treat him as a newcomer."

Searching for a heroine was more arduous.

"For the heroine's role I saw a number of girls but nothing worked out till one day Esha walked into the office and I felt she was suitable. It was in the same way Nithya Menen had walked in for Ala Modalaindi. We wanted a Telugu girl and Esha fit the role perfectly as she had the language fluency," says Damodar Prasad.

Mohan wanted the girl to speak the language as the film was a romantic drama with intense romantic scenes. Subsequently, workshops were conducted for Esha.  "It was a joy to see high quality acting from both," Mohan adds
"Normally one improves in terms of acting, body language and dance. Here I improved in life – I gained in maturity," says Sumanth.

Working for Mohankrishna, he says, "was like working with an international director. The producer Damu garu has good taste. For a feature film to work, the combo of the producer and director has to be good.

"The film is entertaining, commercial and realistic. Many people will connect to it."

Debutante Esha is "happy to be part of this film. I have got a complex and challenging role."

Kalyani Malik, now Kalyani Koduri, composes music for this film.

"He is the asthana vidwan of Sri Ranjith Movies. There are six songs in the film. Three songs were written by Seetharama Sastry and the lyrics for the other three were penned by Ananth Sriram. According to me, this is Kalyani's best album," says Mohankrishna.

Madhubala, who acted in Mani Ratnam's Roja, plays the heroine's mother. Ravi Babu portrays the father and will be seen in a different role. Rao Ramesh and Rohini play Sumanth's parents.

P G Vinda is the cinematographer, Ravinder, the art director and Marthand K Venkatesh, the editor for this film. Sagar has worked on the visual publicity material.

The audio of Anthaku Mundu... Aa Tharuvatha is scheduled to release in the first week of May. The film is expected to be out around the last week of May.
