2012's Best Comeback? Sridevi, Rani or Ayesha Takia

For a film industry that has had quite a strict expiration date for its leading ladies, Bollywood saw a record number of comebacks in 2012.

While only a few of them managed to win back their fans, certain others were let down by the roles given to them and substandard plots.

Here's a look at 2012's comeback queens.

Sridevi

The Hawa hawai girl, 49, made one of the most successful comebacks in recent times with a role that was meant for her to portray.

Gauri Shinde's delightful English Vinglish proved that Sridevi has a lot more to offer as an actress.

Karisma Kapoor

After a high profile wedding to New Delhi-based industrialist Sanjay Kapur and motherhood, Karisma Kapoor's return to films was marked by a rather insipid movie.

Dangerous Ishhq was like watching the actress step into one of the many poorly-made films from the 1990s.

Rani Mukerji

Rani Mukerji probably meant well when she signed Aiyyaa.

Masquerading as a quirky, fun film about a woman expressing her sexuality, Aiyya probably got lost in translation with its off-putting., bizarre humour.

Manisha Koirala

Manisha Koirala, one of the finest actresses of her time, made a comeback with Ram Gopal Varma's Bhoot Returns.

It won't be wrong to say that the actress was let down solely by her director.

Ayesha Takia

Actress Ayesha Takia, who hasn't signed any film for a while now, has taken to television.

The bubbly actress hosts the reality singing show Sur Kshetra, and looks stunning in it.

Mahima Chaudhry

Actress Mahima Chaudhry, whose last notable project was Kudiyon Ka Hai Zamana in 2006, has turned to television too for a comeback.

She's currently seen on kids' reality TV show Chote Miyan as a judge along side Sachin Pilgaonkar.

Aamna Sharif

Aamna Sharif, who rose to fame with her hit TV show Kahiin Toh Hoga and went on to work in a Hindi film titled Aloo Chat, is back on television.

The actress stars along side Rakesh Bapat in Hongey Juda Na Hum.
