It's a big weekend for Malayalam cinema, with Mammootty and Dileep teaming up for Kammath & Kammath.

According to the film's director, Thomson, who has earlier made the hit Karyasthan with Dileep, this is going to be "a fun film, with lots of situational humour."

Kammath & Kammath was in the news mainly for the presence of Tamil superstar Dhanush, who is playing a cameo. He is part of a song sequence as well.

"The two brothers, Raja Raja Kammath (Mammootty) and Deva Raja Kammath (Dileep), have come up in life facing lots of struggles and now own a chain of restaurants all over Kerala.

"They speak Malayalam with a Konkani accent. Their ancestors had come from Goa and have settled in Kochi several years back. They began it all from a small time thattu kada and their business flourished in a big way," explains the director.

"The main element that we have worked on here is the affection shared by the two brothers," says Dileep, who had a fantastic year, with two blockbusters to his credit, Maya Mohini and My Boss.

Kammath & Kammath is being produced under the banner of Anto Joseph Film Company. The hit pair of Siby K Thomas and Udayakrishna scripted the film.

Karthika Nair and Rima Kallingal play the heroines. Anil Nair wields the camera. M Jayachandran is the music director.

Kammath & Kammath will hit the screens on January 25.
