Bollywood stars head to Goa for IFFI

The festival, which starts today and lasts till November 30, will screen 326 films from 76 countries this year.

'Are censor certificates given based on a film's budget?'

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta, who made critically-acclaimed film Shahid, is upset with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for granting U/A certificate to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's latest film Ram-Leela.

‘Why was Shahid given an 'A' certificate? And Ram Leela has an U/A certificate??? Are censor certificates given based on a film's budget? Have filed a RTI application about the granting of U/A certificate to Ram Leela. Lets see what I get,’ he twreted.

Mehta also clarified that he has nothing against Ram Leela. ‘I have nothing against Ram Leela. I am just upset by the reasoning of the CBFC when it comes to issuing certificates,’ he added.

Shahid was based on the life of Mumbai-based lawyer and human rights activist, Shahid Azmi, who was assassinated in 2010.
