Cool Ganesha, releasing tomorrow, will be another addition to the Ganesha series. It has Jaggesh in the lead this time.

Vasanth, who earlier directed Jaggesh’s hit movie Mr Bakra, is now directing his third film, Cool Ganesha.

Tashu Kaushik from Mumbai is the female lead. The film has music by Manikanth Kadri and cinematography by Ramesh Babu.

In this brief chat, director Vasanth talks about Cool Ganesha and what it takes to direct a comedy.

What is Cool Ganesha all about?

We encounter some untoward incidents and problems in our lives. The film is about how the hero takes all his problems in his stride with a cool attitude.

The hero gets into trouble for no fault of his and the movie is about how he comes out in a fun way.

Basically, the film relieves you of all the tension that people face every day.

Does this film come loaded with a message?

No. It is not a message-oriented film. However, we have tried to convey the importance of staying cool even under adverse conditions.

But there is a moral in it. If one handles problems correctly, one can solve them without much ado.

'Jaggesh's own film Ganesha sank without a trace'

What was it like working with a seasoned comedian like Jaggesh?

We have worked together in the past. I wrote the dialogues for the film but it was Jaggesh who improvised with his own lines.

He was magnanimous not to take credit for the work he has actually done.

It was a good experience to work with Jaggesh. He was game to listen to what I had to say as a director. If he trusts a director, we can see his total involvement at work on the sets.

Are you banking on the success of the Ganesha series?

No. There have been a few duds in the Ganesha series.

Jaggesh’s own film Ganesha sank without a trace. We just prefixed ‘cool’ to the title as the hero plays the title role.

The movie gives you a cool feeling. We also thought that this title will go well with Jaggesh’s image.

'Cool Ganesha is a full-length comedy film without any room for emotions'

What can the audiences expect from Cool Ganesha?

Cool Ganesha is a full-length comedy film without any room for emotions.

Jaggesh will be seen in an out-and-out comedy after a long gap. The film will be reminiscent of his movies released in the 1990s when he ruled the roost as the king of comedy.

How do you plan to counter competition from another comedy film, Chaddi Dosth, that is releasing on the same day?

That’s not a problem because the movies are not in competition. We have laid more stress on comedy.

I hope the audience will enjoy both the comedy movies.
