Jackie and Ayesha Shroff's 24-year-old son is all set to make his acting debut this May.

Another star son is ready to test his luck on the silver screen.

Debuting with a film that borrows its name from his own father Jackie Shroff's 1983 blockbuster Hero, Tiger Shroff has big names like Subhash Ghai, Aamir Khan and Heropanti producer Sajid Nadiadwala vouching for his onscreen talents.

While we wait to see what the Friday box office has in store for this aspiring actor, here are a few things you may not have known about him.

Take a look.

1. The real Tiger

The young actor's real name is Jai Hemant Shroff.

He was born on March 2, 1990 and has a younger sister named Krishna.

Shroff's paternal grandparents were Kakubhai Shroff, a Gujarati astrologer, and Rita Shroff.

2. The gym instructor to stars

Shroff Jr reportedly helped Aamir Khan during his gym workout sessions for his part on Dhoom 3.

The duo hit it off instantly and Aamir was, at one point, keen on producing Shroff's debut film.

While that didn't quite work out, Khan did release the trailer of Heropanti.

3. Gym encounters of another kind

Bestselling author Chetan Bhagat, who is often at the receiving end of brickbats for his ill-advised tweets, once bumped into Shroff at a gym.

He wasted no time in letting his followers know about this celebrity spotting with a picture (above) and wrote, 'Do NOT work out next to this guy, he will only give you a complex! Tiger Shroff.'

4. The trained martial artist

The Heropanti debutant underwent flexibility and motion training for his first film.

Shroff trained under his coach Ziley Mawai -- a national level gymnast from Haryana -- for close to three years.

His rigorous training involved back layout, front pike, 360 degree-backward twist, wall flips and leaps.

5. Star parents

His doting parents -- actor dad Jackie Shroff and mum Ayesha -- are anxiously waiting for his first film's release.

While Shroff Sr admitted to being nervous at the film's trailer launch, mum Ayesha got emotional when she saw him on the big screen.

The story goes that Jackie Shroff got very emotional when he saw Tiger sign his debut film, and broke into tears. This moment was apparently captured by Heropanti producer Sajid Nadiadwala, and he is likely to use the footage during the end-titles of the film.

6. Father figure

Sajid Nadiadwala, who has known Tiger Shroff ever since he was born, is nervous about his film’s prospects too.

"Tiger is the first actor I’m launching in my entire career as a producer. So I feel responsible about it," he said in an interview recently.

Incidentally, this is also a year of another first for Nadiadwala.

His directorial debut Kick is also scheduled to hit the marquee sometime this year.

7. The acting bug

Acting wasn't his first choice.

A trained martial artist, Tiger Shroff was more of a sports person before he decided to take the plunge in acting.

8. Hero makes way

Heropanti was initially set to release on February 21 but was pushed to May 16 to make way for Imtiaz Ali's Alia Bhatt starrer Highway, another Sajid Nadiadwala production.

The film will now release on May 23.
