Get your lowdown on what's going on in the world of Bollywood.

A local court in Madhya Pradesh has directed the police to register a case against Aamir Khan, filmmakers Raju Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and others for publication of a controversial poster of their upcoming movie PK.

The directives were given by Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) R D Deharia to Aadhartal Police Station In-charge on a complaint filed by advocate Amit Sahu.

The court also directed to register a case against Film and Television Producer Guild President Mukesh Bhatt and also against editor and publisher of three local dailies for publishing the poster.

The complainant termed the poster as "obscene, indecent and unreasonable" and said that the act comes under the category of obscenity and a case under IPC section 292 and 294 can be registered against them.

The court then directed the police to file a report whether the poster in question comes under the category of obscenity and fixed September 19 as the next date of hearing in the matter.

On August 20, the second poster of the film was released in Mumbai which showed Aamir donning traditional Rajasthani attire after the first bare-all one triggered a controversy.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film also features Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput, Boman Irani and Sanjay Dutt.

The film is set for release on December 19.

Vishal Bhardwaj: It's time for I&B ministry to help film fraternity

Reacting to the arrest of Central Board of Film Certification's (CBFC) CEO Rakesh Kumar in an alleged bribery case, filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj says it is high time that Information & Broadcasting Ministry should come forward and aggressively help film fraternity on various matters.

"I have read about it (arrest of CBFC CEO) in newspapers. I think I&B ministry should step in aggressively, it is not just the issue of censor, but other things as well," Bhardwaj said.

"We have been promised for eight years about forming the category (of films) from 12 plus, 15 plus, 18 plus children but it has not happened yet. We filmmakers are suffering," Bhardwaj told reporters at the music launch of his upcoming film Haider in Mumbai.

The CBFC is a statutory body under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to regulate public exhibition of films under the provisions of The Cinematograph Act 1952.

Bhardwaj shares similar sentiment as CBFC Chairperson Leela Samson that, "the transparent method of certifying films is computerisation of applications."

Haider, starring Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, will have 10 songs, of different genres of music.

Happy New Year: Taking social media promotions to newer heights

Farah Khan's Happy New Year seems to have pushed the envelope when it comes to online promotions ahead of its release.

Instead of hosting the film's first trailer on Youtube, as is the norm, the makers launched it on Facebook and on Twitter with personalised messages from the film's star cast.

Quite unsurprisingly, given the buzz around the movie, the trailer crossed 4 million views within 24 hours of being unveiled.

While it earned the distinction of being the first Hindi film to be unveiled on Facebook and Whatsapp, it also trended on top position on Twitter and other social media platforms.
