Friends, family and fans of Philip Seymour Hoffman came together to give the late actor a teary farewell on February 6 in New York.

Philip Seymour Hoffman's private wake, arranged by his girlfriend of 13 years -- Mimi O"Donnell -- was held at the Frank E Campbell Funeral Chapel in Manhattan and attended by his many star friends.

Hoffman's Doubt costar Meryl Streep and Joaquin Phoenix, with whom he appeared in Paul Thomas Anderson's highly acclaimed 2013 film The Master, were among the many well known faces who attended the wake.

A distraught Cate Blanchett was spotted arriving with scriptwriter husband Andrew Upton.
