Former child star Shirley Temple passes away

Former child star Shirley Temple Black passed away on Monday night, February 10 at her residence in Woodside, California.

She was 85.

She is survived by three kids, a granddaughter and two great-granddaughters.

Best remembered for her 1930s films including The Little Princess, Heidi and Bright Eyes, the late veteran was awarded the special Juvenile Academy Award in 1935 for her outstanding contribution to motion pictures.

After her showbiz career ended, Temple served as US ambassador to Ghana and Czechoslovakia and as Chief of Protocol of the United States from 1976-1977.
