The year 2013 saw quite a few movie disappointments, films that had loud performances and mindless violence. We take a look:

Chandra
Director: Roopa Iyer
Cast: Shriya Saran, Prem Kumar, Ganesh Venkatraman

Shriya Saran’s debut in Kannada created much pre-release hype. The film had some artistic touches and stunning cinematography and even some good performances.

But the story of a princess falling in love with her music teacher did not have many takers.

Veera

Director: Ayyappa P Sharma
Cast: Malashri, Komal Kumar, Rahul Dev, Ashish Vidyarthi

Malashri’s action film was a colossal dud.

At a time when Kannada films and Indian cinema in general is trying to raise the bar in screenplay and quality of production, Veera was a mindless action film made exclusively to please Malashri’s fans who love that kind of action.

Uninspiring and boring throughout, Bangari had no interesting twists.
