The Top Five Kannada Songs of 2013

There were some fantastic numbers in Kannada films in 2013.

Songs composed by Joshua Sridhar, Harikrishna V and Arjun Janya, as well as by newcomers Bharath and Poornachandra Tejaswi got the red carpet treatment.

Some songs even ruled iTunes for a while.

Not only did it top iTunes, it was a favourite for flash mobs conducted across the state.

Stage orchestra singer from Mysore, Naveen Sajju, rose to fame with this number.

Singer: Sonu Nigam

Sonu Nigam has been a household name in Karnataka for a long time now.

The Jassie Gift-composed Modala Male is a melodious song and it topped the charts in 2013.

Music: Poornachandra Tejaswi

Singers: Poornachandra Tejaswi, Bappi Blossom

The soundtrack of Lucia brought much needed freshness to the folk based melodies.

Thinbeda Kammi, which had the ethnic flavour of the Chamrajnagar region of Karnataka, was composed by Poornachandra.

Rendered by him and Bappi Blossom, it was a favourite with music lovers.

It became very popular towards the end of 2013 for its different style of vocals.
