Sanjay Dutt, whose wife Maanyata is currently undergoing medical treatment at a hospital, visited a temple to pray for her recovery.

Earlier this month, Maanyata was admitted to a private hospital in suburban Mumbai after being diagnosed with a tumour in the liver and a suspected heart ailment.

Dutt, who is under emotional distress because of his wife's ill-health, recently visited the famous Shree Siddhivinayak temple in Prabhadevi, central Mumbai, and the holy Sayyed Haji Abdul Rehman Shah Baba Dargah in Dongri, south Mumbai, to pray for her recovery.

On December 21, the 53-year-old actor and 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case convict was granted a month's leave from Yerwada Jail in Pune after he filed an application citing his wife's illness.

Earlier this week, the Maharashtra government extended his parole by another 30 days on the ground of his wife's illness.

"My wife has a tumour of the liver. There have been many cancer instances in my family. Doctors are investigating. Please pray for my wife. We will follow medical course after the investigation," Dutt had said earlier.

Dutt had been convicted by the Supreme Court last year and sentenced to five years in prison for illegally possession of arms in a case related to the 1993 bomb blasts.

He had already served 18 months of his term and is currently undergoing the remaining 42 months of his sentence.

Buoyed by the success of Mere Dad Ki Maruti, the makers of the 2013 comedy are working on its sequel.

Mere Dad Ki Maruti, directed by Ashima Chibber, had Saqib Saleem, Ram Kapoor, Rhea Chakraborty and others. The film which released in 2013 got a good response.

Yash Raj Films has decided to make a sequel to Mere Dad Ki Maruti under their banner Y-Films. The second outing is apparently going to be titled Meri Maruti.

"The first one was very successful both commercially and critically.. Mere Dad Ki Maruti has made it onto must watch film list of 2013. The music is also still buzzing everywhere," Ashish Patil, Vice President - Y-Films, Brand Partnerships & Talent Management said.

"The story and the characters lend themselves to being extended as a franchise very well. So we are quite keen to pursue the same," he said.

And the makers are thinking of coming up with a sequel and the work is on for it.

"There are talks but we are still in the process of developing the idea and script for the same. Once we are super-excited and super-confident about it we will make formal announcement," he said.

There is a buzz that Saqib Saleem and Ram Kapoor are likely to be part of the sequel as well.
