Salman Khan's action movie Kick is all set to storm the box office this weekend.

Action movies, incidentally, have done quite well in the past -- from Dhoom 3 to Krrish 3, these movies seem to know how to rake in the moolah.

Here's looking at the 10 most successful action movies in Hindi cinema.

Dhoom 3 
Box office collections: Rs 284 crores.

The biggest action blockbuster has been 2013's Dhoom 3, which is also the most celebrated franchise that Bollywood boasts of today.

Dhoom may have had humble beginnings with Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra battling John Abraham on bikes, but there was a huge rise in fortunes with Hrithik Roshan coming on board in the second installment.

With Aamir Khan, in a double role, the franchise has now become all about the villains.

Chennai Express is a complete package -- it has action, comedy, romance, music and drama.

But it's a Rohit Shetty film.

So it's obvious that action will take precedence, and that cars would fly, and muscles would enjoy their day in the sun.
