Scotland Yard team for IndiaA Scotland Yard police team is coming to India shortly to investigate match-fixing accusations against English cricketers, but which involve Indian agents. Answering supplementaries, Home Minister L K Advani said the Delhi police will take their assistance if required. He also said that there is no proposal to legalise betting in the country. Advani said the CBI is inquiring into the entire issue and will be able to untangle the case. He said, if necessary, the guilty will be brought to the country from abroad to face prosecution. Advani said the Delhi police have so far arrested two persons connected with the case. He said it is not possible at present to determine the amount of money, if any, that exchanged hands in the alleged match fixing scandal. UNI
