Bishnoi 15th in javelin heatsThe Rediff TeamJagdish Bishnoi is out of the men's javelin throw event. At Homebush Bay this morning, in the Group A qualifying round, Bishnoi hurled the javelin to a distance of 70.86 as his first throw. Which as it turned out was his best -- in his second throw, he could only manage 69.77 metres. His third throw was a foul. The group was topped by Greece's Konstantinos Gatsioudis, who took only one throw, hurled the javelin 88.41 metres and, having easily qualified for the next round, decided to forego his next two throws. As has happened with other Indian athletes participating today, Bishnoi did not manage to even equal his own personal best, of 79.69 metres.
